Garden clubs have been around since the late 19th century. During WWI and WWII, garden clubs were instrumental in promoting victory gardens and played a major role in the Highway Beautification Act of 1965. The High Meadow Ranch Garden Club has not been around that long, though we are very proud of what we have accomplished. We started out meeting in members’ homes, and as our membership grew we began to meet primarily in the HMR Golf Club Ranch House. We still occasionally meet in a member’s home. For example, our 2025 Christmas party was held at a member's beautiful home.
One of the primary roles of any garden club, including the HMR Garden Club, is to facilitate knowledge and skill building for all gardeners in the community. No one is expected to be an expert gardener upon joining our club. In fact, we are all learning together! If you are a beginning gardener, you are encouraged to attend!
How do we help our members become better gardeners? This is accomplished in several ways. These include:
Please consider joining us each month from September through May at 6:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month. We’d love to meet you and hear more about your gardening journey.
You might also consider joining the HRM Garden Club Board to help plan upcoming activities.
